A Bit About Myself

Musician turned Teacher and Choir Leader!

Hi, I’m Emily — a musician, teacher, and choir leader based in Sutton.

I’ve known I wanted to work in music for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always writing songs, singing at any opportunity, and playing my grandparents’ piano (whether they wanted me to or not!). It wasn’t until high school, though, that I met some incredible teachers who really inspired me to pursue teaching myself.

I went on to study Music, Music Technology and Musical Theatre at sixth form, achieving a Grade 8 in singing with Distinction, before continuing my training at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM). I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Creative Musicianship through the University of West London — where I focused heavily on songwriting, including composing a full album as part of my final project.

These days, when I’m not teaching or running my choir, I still love writing music (when inspiration strikes!) and spending time with my studio pup, Albie — who occasionally likes to sit in on lessons.
